Adhisthana / Urgyen House

Adhisthana, established in 2013 in the village of Coddington west of the Malvern Hills, became the UK headquarters of the Triratna Buddhist Community and the home of Sangharakshita for the last years of his life. Within its twenty-six acres stands Urgyen House, where he lived until his death on 30 October 2018. His living room, conservatory, and bedroom remain undisturbed, and the house is now open to pilgrims as a place of memory and practice. Adhisthana also holds the Sangharakshita Memorial Library, with thousands of his books gathered across a lifetime of travel.
