- ◆ Located at the foot of a hill about two miles from Kanhangad town in North Kerala.
- ◆ Swami Ramdas (1884–1963) was a widely-revered saint; Mother Krishnabai was his chief disciple.
- ◆ On their first stay (about a week) Swami Ramdas declared to Sangharakshita: 'Your mantra is Oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ!'.
- ◆ On their second stay (about six weeks) they deepened their practice and Ramdas warned against excessive austerities.
- ◆ Ramdas inscribed Sangharakshita's notebook: 'Love Dharma, for Dharma is Truth.'
- ◆ The Dhammapada was memorised during morning walks at the ashram in this period.
